Our virtual event privacy notice expressly states a sponsor/exhibitor will be given their data once they interact with sponsored content. Here is part of the statement:
Therefore, you may view and analyze their data. However, 3rd Party Marketing Permission is separate. We have asked certain registrants (based on country) to opt-in or out of being contacted by the event sponsors at the point of registration. The individual responses to 3rd Party Marketing Permission are included in the report for your review.
We recommend you review internally with your marketing teams before contacting users, especially countries affected by GDPR and CASL.
This depends on the Virtual Event technology. After reading the statement you will see that it pertains to technologies that are offering booths, company profiles, sponsored sessions, ads, sponsored content, etc. An ON24 Engagement Hub would not qualify as a Virtual Event in this situation, and does not need this notice. If you’re ever unsure, please ask.
Virtual Event Privacy Notice:
Informa (and any third-party platform provider acting on our behalf) will use your personal information provided during the registration process to host and manage this digital event and to analyse visitor traffic with a view to improving the event experience for attendees.
When entering a virtual exhibition booth or company profile, your full contact details may be shared with the exhibitor to allow them to engage with you. If you accept a connection or meeting invite as part of the event then your full contact details will be shared directly with the other attendee, sponsor or exhibitor with whom you have connected. Your contact details will also be shared whenever you engage with sponsor/exhibitor content during the event (i.e. attend a sponsored session, view an ad, download sponsored content, etc.) and the sponsor/exhibitor may follow up with you to confirm your interest in their products.
