Ribonucleic acid as a therapeutic modality has gained tremendous traction in recent years; however, large-scale production faces complex challenges in nucleic acids quality and quantity, as well as overall economics. Targeting the growing number of mRNA vaccines in the marketplace and siRNA/ASO candidates advancing in clinical studies, we will share how engineered enzymes can overcome these difficulties to achieve scalable and sustainable manufacturing.

Stephanie Forget is a Scientist II in Process Chemistry at Codexis, where she is currently working as a technical lead alongside a multidisciplinary team evolving enzymes for the biocatalytic synthesis of modified RNA oligonucleotides. Prior to Codexis, Stephanie earned a PhD in Chemistry at Dalhousie University, studying the biosynthetic enzymes involved in rare sugars found in natural products. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia, Stephanie studied oxidative enzymes through reaction profiling.
