Nutrien Ltd. has appointed Ken Seitz as its president and CEO. Seitz has served as interim CEO since January 2022 and brings more than 25 years of global management experience working across more than 60 countries, with deep experience in agriculture and mining sectors.
The company stated that under Seitz’s leadership, Nutrien achieved record results, delivered bold actions in response to changes in agricultural markets, advanced the organization’s sustainability strategy and brought together key parties to help navigate global food security challenges.
Seitz joined Nutrien in October 2019, as executive vice president and CEO Potash. Before joining Nutrien, he was president and CEO of Canpotex. He previously worked with Cameco Corporation for 18 years, holding a variety of senior management roles, including senior design engineer; VP, marketing and administration; VP, corporate development; and senior VP and chief commercial officer.
Seitz has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. He is a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan and is a Professional Agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. He also holds a Certificate in Management from the Stern School of Business at New York University. ●

UPL Corporation has appointed Mike Frank as the chief executive officer (CEO) of UPL's Global Crop Protection (CP) business that manages all CP assets outside of India.
Frank joined UPL as president and chief operating officer of its crop protection business in January 2022. Prior to that, he was the executive vice president and CEO, Nutrien Ag Solutions from 2017 to 2021.
Frank started his career with Monsanto as a sales representative in Saskatchewan, Canada. During his 25 years at Monsanto, he served in multiple roles including global head of manufacturing and supply chain, head of global chemistry and president of Monsanto China. His last role at Monsanto was senior vice president and chief commercial officer.
Frank serves on the board of Ag Growth International and is a member of the audit committee and the human resources committee. He holds an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and has a degree in agricultural engineering from University of Saskatchewan. ●

Ecorobotix, a Swiss provider of ultra-high precision crop treatment and plant-by-plant data, has hired Silicon-valley executive Simon Aspinall as its new CEO to drive global growth.
Aspinall has a Masters in engineering and computer science (Oxford) and MBA (Insead), and extensive high tech experience having held executive positions at Cisco, EMC and Dell and as part of the exec team at multiple start-ups including Virtustream, Swim.AI and Slamcore.
As CEO, Simon is responsible for the company's strategy and growth. ●

Marcelo Altieri is Yara’s new president in Brazil. With Yara since 2014, Altieri was previously vice president of operations in Latin America.
An agronomist, Altieri graduated from the Universidad de La Republica (Uruguay) and has specializations in marketing and finance (Boston University, U.S.) and Global Economics (The London School of Economics and Political Science, UK). He also has an MBA in
business management (from the EGADE Business School, Mexico). ●

Syngenta Group has announced succession plans for its leadership team.
Jeff Rowe has taken over the leadership of Syngenta Crop Protection. His former role as president, Global Seeds, is now assumed by Justin Wolfe, who was previously regional director North America Seeds.
As members of the Group Leadership Team, the two will report to CEO Erik Fyrwald. Rowe will relocate to Basel, Switzerland; Wolfe will continue to be based in Downers Grove, Illinois, U.S.
With increasing ambitions for Syngenta Group’s Vegetable Seeds and Flowers business, Matthew Johnston will continue in his current global role as Head of Vegetable Seeds and Flowers, now reporting directly to CEO Erik Fyrwald.
Jon Parr, president, Global Crop Protection, retired on September 30, after a 35-year tenure at the company, including the last seven years as head of the global crop protection business. He joined Syngenta Group and its predecessor companies in January 1987. ●
