Tarang Srivastava has been appointed head of international business, responsible for business strategy and financial objectives in international markets and working with distribution partners, external business partners and internal teams to expand biologicals globally.
Srivastava’s focus will lay in providing solutions to growers in European markets. He formally worked on Bharat Certis Insecticide Limited for parent company Mitsui & Co. and brings extensive experience in establishing global positions to the new role.
Moto Mitani joins the international business team and will lead the Certis teams for Asia
and Africa as well as supporting Certis Biologicals’ specialty chemical sales division.
Mitani joins from Mitsui AgriScience where he served as business manager responsible for international sales.
Amanda Eade joins the Certis Global marketing team as global portfolio manager for bioinsecticides and bioherbicides, assessing market capacity for Certis’ portfolio of bio-based insecticide and herbicide solutions.
Eade brings extensive experience from posts with Open Book Extracts as operations manager, BASF as portfolio manager and Dow Agrisciences as sales representative. ●
The Irrigation Association (IA) has hired Coleman Garrison as its new government and public affairs director. Garrison takes on this role following John Farner, who was with the IA until May 2021.
Garrison comes to the IA with 12 years of experience working in government and legislative affairs. He most recently worked as the director of government affairs for the National Association of Conservation Districts, where he managed the association’s government affairs and worked with congressional staff on
regulatory and legislative actions and other priorities impacting the association.
Garrison’s past experience also includes working in the offices of three members of Congress. He has been involved in extensive work related to the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills and other efforts and campaigns designed to cultivate congressional relationships. ●
HPNow, supplier of technology solutions for the on-site generation of ultrapure hydrogen peroxide, appointed Cord Nunez as sales director agriculture, North America. Based in Salinas, California (U.S.), Nunez joins the company to help drive its sales in the North American agriculture sector.
Nunez is a seasoned sales executive with over 10 years of experience in business development, revenue creation and lead generation. With previous sales and account management positions at U.S. agtech companies Hortau and Novihum Technologies, Nunez will assist HPNow in consolidating and expanding upon its North American market presence. ●
Hanan Dor has joined Groundwork BioAg as chief commercial officer, responsible for expanding the agriculture business. The former chief executive officer of ICL Fertilizers and Chemicals, a subsidiary of ICL Group Ltd., brings more than 35 years of experience leading global business development, marketing and sales for sustainable specialty fertilizer plant nutrition.
Dan Grotsky is named chief growth officer with Groundwork BioAg, responsible for expanding the cannabis business and growth initiatives, including sustainability and carbon markets. Since Groundwork BioAg’s inception in 2014, Grotsky led the development of Rootella for row, organic and specialty crops, and DYNOMYCO for cannabis. ●
Syngenta Canada Inc. has appointed Nathan Klages as biologicals business manager in Canada.
A business leader with two decades of experience in product marketing, Klages previously held various customer support and marketing roles within Syngenta Canada and the Global Syngenta team.
Klages is a graduate of the University of Guelph and the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program. ●
Puck van Holsteijn is the new chief executive of the World Horti Center, the knowledge and innovation centre for international greenhouse horticulture. She succeeds Joep Hendricks, and has taken over the duties of interim chief executive Hans Kleijwegt.
Alongside her work for World Horti Center, van Holsteijn will remain active in her current position as chief executive of HortiHeroes. Kleijwegt will remain involved as project manager, and support van Holsteijn during the initial period. ●
Dr. Shachi Gurumayum has been appointed as head of business development with AgBiTech. Gurumayum is currently managing AgBiTech's businesses in Africa and South Asia.
Gurumayum graduated from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, with honours in chemistry before pursuing his MSc and PhD in formulation science from Bristol University. He also has an
MBA in strategy and marketing from HEC Paris and is currently pursuing an advanced degree in international healthcare management from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute.
Gurumayum has over 18 years of experience in four continents in the chemicals, oil and gas, and agricultural sectors including a three-year stint as country manager for Syngenta Nigeria. He is a founding trustee of the MaolKeki Foundation and
in January 2021, was awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, the highest honour conferred to an overseas Indian by the president of India. ●
