Defining and building an inclusive culture is not driven top down by one person but by all levels of an organization working together.
As I reflect on the many conversations we’ve had in 2020 and what we plan to achieve together in 2021, this phrase always comes to mind: strength in numbers. We started as a small NY Portfolio D&I group and have grown to include other NY-based colleagues from our Legal and Engage teams.
We’ve had honest and uncomfortable conversations, taken an objective look at where we were, and committed to taking action. It is early in our journey, but we have demonstrated what we can begin to accomplish by working together, both within our teams and the respective communities we serve.
I look forward to doing my part to keep the momentum going and following through on our commitments. If you’re based in the NY office or work with our NY-based teams and want to join our D&I group, please let me know.
