Executive Creative Director & Global Brand Strategist, Formerly GE
Andrew (Ande) La Monica is a designer. Or you might say he began his career as one. Presently Ande works as a consultant to groups like the Olympics, Adobe, InVision, & the AIGA. He recently left his position as executive creative director and a global brand strategist designer at General Electric. He is a business leader, an innovation consultant, a brand builder, and a design strategist. He's studied at SVA, Rutgers and Harvard and was also mentored by Milton Glaser. The list goes on. I had the unique opportunity to speak to Ande in this candid way and got to ask him first hand how he got to where he is from where he came from.
Because Ande is a regular guy who went to a state university like a lot of us. And because he struggled as a high school student but finally got by when he figured out how to mind map Shakespeare. And he was creative and entrepreneurial and he studied under Milton Glaser. And his driver is happiness. And he speaks about working for Bloomberg and GE and how to empathize with CEO's by quantifying specific metrics. And he digs behavioral psychology. And he seems to have figured out early on how to stick with companies who VALUE DESIGN!
